Many people think that seeing a certified nutritionist is just another doctor to keep track of, but a Certified Nutritionist (licensed by the Commonwealth) also helps manage chronic diseases, food allergies and sensitivities, weight gain, self-image, and overall nutritional understanding.

Sam J. Cohen is a board-certified nutritionist at Rewind Health™ & Wellness by Sharicom Health® in Lexington, Kentucky.

Nutrition is a complex science that’s very specific to you. As a Board-Certified Nutritionist, Mr. Cohen works with patients one-on-one to find the best foods for their body type, age, and health conditions. He can help explain the suitable kinds of foods to eat, how different foods impact your body, and what foods to stay away from.

Our health is related to an optimum supply of both macronutrients and micronutrients, as either excess or insufficient intake can lead to problems.

Today, nutrition science includes “disease prevention,” in which nutrition plays a key role and covers topics from why and how single nutrient deficiencies cause certain diseases to more complex conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease.

Rewind Nutrition

Proper nutrition is one of the basic ingredients for leading a healthy life. We often have little knowledge about what the key parameters of nutrition are, so this article will explain some of the basics of nutrition, in order to help you lead a healthier life.

  • Tailor menus directly for patients based on nutritional needs. Meal planning can also help cut down on grocery bills. When you go shopping with a specific list for designated meals, it cuts down on the extra foods you might purchase and the temptation to get junk food.
  • Proper nutrition can help manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and many other chronic issues, in combination with treatment from your primary care physician.
  • A certified nutritionist also motivates you when you struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • People suffering from food allergies benefit from learning about foods that could cause an allergic reaction. This can be especially helpful to individuals who have been diagnosed with mild to severe gluten allergies that require a complete diet change.
  • When you eat healthier, your body doesn’t work as hard, so you have more energy and feel better.
  • Each patient receives a different plan and recommendations based on their health and lifestyle. A 45-year-old in good health might have very different recommendations on what they should eat than a 65-year-old with underlying health conditions.

Mr. Cohen also has a host of certified health coaches that assist him. (more)
