Medically assisted weight loss is a weight loss program closely monitored by medical professionals (providers). Our Certified Nutritionist helps with customized diet plans, which are often done in conjunction with medications that suppress appetite and or reduce cravings. Rewind™ Health & Wellness by Sharicom Health® will ask you to have regular visits with the provider, the certified nutritionist, licensed health and wellness coaches, or licensed personal trainers. (See Nutrition Team)
Both your provider and the certified nutritionist will also have regular visits with the patients, going over what worked and what didn’t work, and fine-tuning the program to their specific lifestyle. The Rewind™ Health & Wellness by Sharicom Health® approach holds patients accountable and aids in the long-term success of keeping the unwanted weight off.
Below, we will discuss some of the main aspects of our medically assisted weight loss program.
Typically, people that are of a BMI of 30 and above are candidates for medically assisted weight loss, but individuals with lower BMI may also benefit from it. Your provider and our certified nutritionist will assess whether or not the program is a good fit for you.
During your first visit for medically assisted weight loss, a medical provider and our certified nutritionist will discuss with you what your goals are for the program. You will go over your medical history, including your current diet and exercise routine, also your past diet habits.
They will look to see if there may be any underlying medical issues that could be causing weight gain and also assess if you are in good enough health to take medication to assist you with your weight loss potential.
Our Nutrition Team will tailor a diet plan, especially for you.
Patients typically lose anywhere from 10 to 25 percent of their body weight during the program.
You may choose to use a medication to assist you during the program. Whatever option you choose, the doctor will closely monitor you to ensure your safety and success during the program.
Most of our patients stay within 5 to 10 pounds of their goal weight. The Nutrition Team will provide the tools and help to form new habits to continue after the program ends. It is possible to regain weight if you do not follow the new things you learned, but as long as you stick to it, you will not.
