How CryoSlim Works

CryoSlimming relies on the science of cryolipolysis, or cold-induced fat cell destruction. The treatment involves a specific, controlled process:

The Process: The device cycles through periods of warming, freezing, and warming again. This thermal shock helps initiate apoptosis—a natural, programmed cell death—in the fat cells within the target area.
Natural Elimination: Once the fat cells are disrupted by the cold temperatures, they are no longer viable. Over the weeks following the session, the body’s lymphatic system naturally processes and eliminates these dead cells .

Mechanism of action

Cryolipolysis exploits the fact that lipid-rich adipocytes are more susceptible to cold-induced injury than surrounding skin, nerves, vessels, and muscle. An applicator delivers controlled cooling (roughly −15 to +7 °C, often with vacuum suction) to the targeted area, cooling fat without damaging overlying tissue. [2-3]

Cold ischemic injury and lipid crystallization trigger reactive oxygen species, adipocyte apoptosis/necrosis, and a subsequent inflammatory response. The damaged fat cells are cleared by phagocytosis over roughly the following 4–6 weeks to 3 months, gradually reducing the subcutaneous fat layer. [2][4-5]

Histologic studies confirm adipocyte membrane disruption, dissolution of interlobular fibrous septa, mild inflammation, and later neocapillarization in treated human adipose tissue. [5]

Evidence for the CryoSlim – Cryslimming device specifically

A prospective study of 60 healthy women using the CryoSlim device for lower-abdominal cryolipolysis (two sessions) found a mean abdominal circumference decrease of 2.10 cm (3.1%) at 3 months and 4.03 cm (5.8%) at 6 months, with subcutaneous fat-layer thickness reductions of ~1.25 cm at 3 months and ~1.61 cm at 6 months. No major adverse events occurred, patient satisfaction was high, and pain was minimal. [1]

These results are consistent with the broader cryolipolysis literature, which reports roughly 20–30% reductions in fat-layer thickness and circumferential reductions of ≥2 cm across the abdomen, flanks, and thighs, with reproducible results and no serious permanent adverse effects. [2][6-7]
