Our Board-Certified Nutritionist, Nurse Practitioners, and Certified Holistic and Integrative Practitioner help with customized diet plans, which are often used in conjunction with medications that suppress appetite and/or reduce cravings.
Our weight-loss program, part of Rewind Lifestyle Nutrition®, is included in Rewind Complete Care®. (See Nutrition Team)
Rewind Lifestyle Nutrition® is pleased to offer medical weight loss treatments, with GLP-1 inhibitors. Our Lexington, Kentucky office has the most comprehensive weight loss program available today. These programs and their products are available only through approved healthcare professionals like us. Rewind Lifestyle Nutrition® consultants have been specially trained to bring this exclusive weight loss and nutrition system to our patients.
Typically, people that are of a BMI of 30 and above are candidates for medically assisted weight loss, but individuals with lower BMI may also benefit from it. Your provider and our certified nutritionist will assess whether or not the program is a good fit for you.
Our medications are all modified versions of a naturally occurring peptides in our bodies that helps stimulate the body’s insulin production and lowers glucagon production, resulting in lowered blood sugar and slower digestion. They have been approved by the FDA to be used as a weight-loss aid when combined with a healthy diet and exercise.
NUTRITION TEAM:
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide help you lose weight by stimulating insulin production in the pancreas after eating, which triggers the stomach to empty more slowly. This in turn sends a signal to the brain telling your stomach it’s full. This helps decrease your appetite and control blood sugar levels to help you lose weight. By decreasing your appetite, Semaglutide and Tirzepatide help you adhere to a lower calorie diet so that you eat more healthfully and exercise more to increase your weight loss efforts.
Patient Labs
Any patient wanting to proceed with Semaglutide or Tirzepatide must have their blood drawn to ensure that Semaglutide or Tirzepatide is the appropriate treatment for your specific condition. Upon completion, our medical team will evaluate your medical history and lab test results and consider factors such as your current health status, other medications you may be taking, and any underlying medical conditions that could affect the use of Semaglutide or Tirzepatide before approving treatment.
Your Consultation
A consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary before starting Semaglutide or Tirzepatide at Rewind Medical Spa®.
Your provider will discuss product education, treatment dosage, and safety considerations. Our board-certified nutritionist will also create a personalized treatment plan based on your individual needs, response to the medication, and other relevant factors. We can address any concerns or questions you may have, provide ongoing support, and help optimize your treatment outcomes.
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are injectable medications that can be self-administered by the patient. Self-administering Semaglutide or Tirzepatide allows our patients to have their medication shipped to their home without the need for frequent visits to a healthcare facility.
Once treatment is approved, the patient’s prescription is shipped to their home with all the dosing instructions and products needed to proceed with treatment. It’s important to follow the specific instructions provided by the manufacturer and the pharmacy to ensure the medication is administered safely and effectively.
Self-administering Semaglutide or Tirzepatide offers patients the flexibility to take their medication according to their prescribed schedule, without the need for healthcare professional assistance for every dose. However, it is still crucial to maintain regular communication with the healthcare provider to monitor progress, address any concerns, and make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.
It is also important to ensure you are careful about what you eat; we recommend avoiding fatty foods and foods high in sugar, which can be harder for your body to digest and can increase the risk of side effects.
On average, our patients have lost 5 – 12 pounds per month, resulting in a loss of 30+ pounds in 90 days!
If you miss a dose and the next scheduled dose is more than 2 days away, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If you miss a dose and the next scheduled dose is less than 2 days away, do not take the missed dose. Take the next dose at your regular time. Do not take double or extra doses. If you miss your dose for 2 weeks or more, take the next dose at your regular time.
The most commonly reported side effect is weight loss. However, some have reported nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, or constipation. The rarest risks of serious effects increase in patients with hypoglycemia, kidney problems, and risk of allergic reactions. This medication is ideal for those who are in good health with no kidney or liver issues who wish to lose weight.
We do have patients stop Semaglutide or Tirzepatide 2 weeks prior to surgery and they must have a clear liquid diet for 24 hours prior to surgery. This is due to the gastric emptying and anesthesia.
